Balancing, Grounding, Comforting, and Protecting
Shaman Shields, often referred to as Septarian Nodules, formed during the Cretaceous period approximately 50 to 70 million years ago when the Gulf of Mexico stretched to what is now Southern Utah. These distinctive formations are made up of Calcite (the yellow centers), Aragonite (the rich brown lines), and Limestone (the outer grey rock). What’s fascinating is the one-of-a-kind patterns they display, resembling ancient symbols or writing.
Typically, Septarian Nodules are cut in half, with one side representing male energy and the other, female energy, thus serving to promote balance.
Shaman Shields (Septarians) are known for their strong grounding properties and are cherished for their role in enhancing spiritual growth and stimulating healing for the body, mind, and spirit. With their protective and calming energy, holding them can bring a sense of comfort and nurturing. They are especially treasured in journey work for their potent protective qualities.*
