WHEN: SUNDAY, JULY 17, 2022
TIME: 1-2 PM
This meditation is created for everyone who would like to experience a guided meditation that promotes a deep spiritual connection with the intention of overcoming past emotions and obstacles that stand in our path of creating new visions and new beginnings for our lives.
The meditation consists of a mantra chant spoken in Sanskrit that connects to Lord Ganesha, who is said to be the remover of all obstacles. Ganesha governs our Root Chakra. This meditation helps to open your Root Chakra to the blessings of a cycle of new beginnings.
Spiritually, chanting this mantra means you are invoking the Divinity within you to connect with the Divinity of the Universe. You are asking for knowledge and wisdom to let go of fears as you become more grounded within yourself, prepare to open new doors, and become the most mindful and balanced version of yourself.
About your Facilitator: This guided meditation is facilitated by Smita Verma. Smita has been practicing yoga and meditation from a very young age. Her parents introduced her to yoga and mantra meditation when she was 11 years old and she attended retreats every year as she grew up. In 2014, Smita utilized her experience of yoga, pranayama, and meditation to help her overcome medical conditions like tinnitus and depression that resulted from her sudden and complete hearing loss. This encouraged her to pursue certification to become a meditation teacher for the purpose of helping others overcome their struggles and use meditation to progress in their journey to mindfulness.
Smita is a certified meditation teacher from The Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago, IL; a temple in the direct lineage of, and founded by the disciples of, Pramahansa Yogananda. Paramhansa Yogananda is the author of the widely popular book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’.
